SHOWCASE COMPETITION

Competition Rules
First Competition Round: Sunday, August 27th, Hush Lounge, 3PM
  1. This competition is for local, independent artists only- Chattanooga (Hamilton County) & adjacent counties. Artists may not be signed to any music label.
  2. This competition is open to Hip-Hop and R&B artists and/or groups. 
  3. Artists/groups may only submit one track. The track must be submitted via a Soundcloud link in the submission form. (ENTER THE CONTEST in the red box to the right).
  4. Individuals can only be entered into the competition once, either as an individual artist or part of a group. 
  5. Individual artists are required to pay a $10 entry fee, group or featured tracks will pay a $20 entry fee.
  6. The deadline to enter the competition and have fees paid is August 24th. If you are paying your entry fee in cash at the event on the 27th, you must let us know. 
  7. Artists must attend the Listening Party on Sunday August 27th at the Hush Lounge in order to be entered into the contest. The submitted tracks will be played that evening.
  8. After the listening party, songs will be placed on the Hip-Hop CHA SoundCloud playlist for the public to listen to. The general public will be able to vote online to narrow the field to TEN artists for the final competition round on September 3rd, at the Revelry Room.
  9. The voting will be open to the general public until Wednesday, 11:59pm EST, August 30th.
  10. The TEN artists/groups with the top votes will be eligible to compete in the Final Competition Round at the Revelry Room on Sunday, September 3rd.

Final Competition Round: Sunday, September 3rd, Revelry Room
  1. The top TEN artists/groups will be able to perform one songs each. 
  2. All artists must submit their performance track to chattanoogahiphop@gmail.com by Friday, September 1st, 11:59PM EST.
  3. All artists must show up for soundcheck at 6:00pm EST on Sunday, September 3rd. Any artist who does not show up before sound check is over will be disqualified.
  4. The setlist will be generated by random and announced to the artists that evening.
  5. After all artists have performed, those in attendance will be able to vote with the one ticket given to them at the door.
  6. Each artist will have a box for audience members to place their voting ticket.
  7. Votes will be counted and the winner will be announced at midnight EST.
  8. The winner of the show will headline our upcoming hip-hop festival on November 18th, 2017.
